The San Juan Islands Healthcare Foundation (SJIHF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting seniors and vulnerable adults on San Juan Island. Through community collaboration and impactful programs, we provide financial assistance for healthcare, essential daily needs, and meaningful life experiences that enrich lives and help remove barriers for those in need.

The Life Wish Fund

One of the SJIHF missions is inspired by the principle that dreams have no age limit.As we face our mortality, memories become the strength we cling to, the purpose of our lives and our reason for living. What if you could relive an experience just one more time? What if you could check one last item off your bucket list? As we age and near the twilight of our lives, many of us hold on to a few wishes: a return to the neighborhood bakery we grew up near, savoring warm pastries on a weekend morning; a hot air balloon ride; or a long-overdue hug with a family member we haven't seen in years because of distance, finances, or time. The Life Wish Fund gives people that opportunity. For seniors and vulnerable adults, we provide the people and the means to make these wishes come true, turning a last request into a cherished moment and a memory that lasts forever.
